Ensuring the safety of high-value assets is a top priority for businesses dealing with jewellery, luxury items or other valuables. While burglary protection is often the main focus, fire presents a serious risk too. Without proper fire resistance, even the most secure storage solutions can fail to protect valuables in the event of a fire.
This is why we have introduced optional fire resistance for our Centurion LW-DD (Lightweight Door-In-Door) and LW-VD (Lightweight Vault Door) vault doors, ensuring that businesses no longer need to choose between burglary and fire protection: they can now have both.
The Centurion LW-DD and LW-VD have been rigorously tested by GryfitLab and now comply with EN 1363-1/2020 & EN 1634-1/2018.
EN 1363-1/2020 outlines the general principles for fire resistance testing of building materials and structures. It defines the methodologies used to assess how materials respond to high temperatures and flames over a given period, ensuring consistency and reliability in fire resistance classification.
EN 1634-1/2018, on the other hand, specifically evaluates the fire resistance of doors, shutters, and other closing elements. It measures how effectively these components can prevent the passage of flames, smoke, and heat during a fire.
In practice, this means our doors can now withstand up to 120 minutes of fire exposure, guaranteeing that they maintain their structural integrity, preventing fire from compromising the security of stored items for up two hours.
The Centurion LW-DD and LW-VD vault doors have long been recognised for their burglary resistance, certified to EN 1143-1, Grade V & VI by ECB•S.
In addition, they are equipped with seven or thirteen active front bolts (30x30 mm) and two relockers, reinforcing their impenetrability. Designed with ergonomics in mind, both doors offer user-friendly operation without compromising performance. While the LW-VD door is constructed from high-strength concrete and reinforcement composite for superior resistance, the LW-DD focuses on an innovative lightweight design, facilitating easier transportation and installation.
In this sense, the introduction of fire resistance testing is more than just an added feature. It provides peace of mind to businesses that demand comprehensive protection, ensuring that assets remain secure even in extreme conditions.
For businesses dealing with high-value assets, a security solution that combines burglary and fire protection is essential. Traditional vault doors focus on one threat, but modern security demands a multi-faceted approach.
The Centurion LW-DD and LW-VD vault doors provide peace of mind, ensuring that assets remain secure against both human threats and environmental hazards providing the highest level of defence. By investing in dual protection, you will ensure long-term security and asset protection while reducing both financial and operational risks.
