Understanding REACH and RoHS 

REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation, and Restriction of Chemicals) and RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) are designed to limit the use of substances that may be harmful to human health or the environment. These regulations apply to a wide range of industries and products, including electrical and electronic equipment.

Although REACH and RoHS are EU regulations, we are applying these standards across all Gunnebo Safe Storage entities—whether based in Europe, the US, or the Asia-Pacific region. This approach ensures that products manufactured outside the EU, but intended for the European market, meet the required standards from the outset. 

By doing so, we aim to support a consistent level of safety and compliance across our global manufacturing footprint. 

We work across functions—from R&D and procurement to production and sales—to review materials, engage with suppliers, and ensure our processes support compliance. This process involves obtaining compliance information and creating a documented declaration that can be provided to customers upon request. 

This collaborative approach helps us maintain high standards throughout the product lifecycle and respond efficiently to customer requests for compliance documentation.
