Simplifying Safe Deposit Management

Simplifying Safe Deposit Management

Safe deposit systems have become more connected and data driven, bringing physical security and digital management closer together. For banks and other safe storage providers, this means coordinating access, compliance and monitoring within one consistent process.

Many organisations now operate a mix of mechanical, electronic, and automated lockers, each with its own software and procedures. Keeping those systems aligned can take time and create unnecessary risk when information is spread across different platforms.

SafeControl Manager has been designed to simplify this process by bringing everything together in one place.

The platform gives staff a clear, real-time view of lockers across all sites. Authorisations can be updated instantly, and contracts, billing, and access rights are managed centrally. This reduces the administrative load on employees and helps ensure that any issues, such as payment delays or technical alerts, are addressed quickly.

For customers, access is fast and secure through PIN, card, biometric, or mobile-based identification, with optional ID matching and video capture where required. Every interaction is logged and traceable, following the four-eyes principle so that no single employee can authorise entry alone. This creates full transparency and helps maintain trust between institutions and their customers.

Security, Compliance and Flexibility

SafeControl Manager has been independently tested and certified by ATRUVIA, the central IT institution of the Volksbanken and Raiffeisenbanken cooperative financial group, and by the auditing firm S-CONSIT. It meets the requirements of MaRisk, BAIT, and IDW PS 880, and supports GDPR-compliant data handling with automatic deletion of sensitive information.

Built-in monitoring tools detect irregular access patterns, such as repeated attempts during restricted hours, and respond immediately when something looks unusual.

The platform works with mechanical, electronic, and automated systems, including high-security locks such as Gunnebo Encry. Its open API allows integration with in-house applications and core banking systems like OSPlus. Because it runs in a standard web browser, there is no need for additional software, making it simple to deploy across multiple sites.

Licensing options are straightforward and based on the type of locker system in use, with optional extension packages for enhanced authentication, fee management, and multi-site administration. Institutions can scale their setup as their requirements evolve without replacing the system.

SafeControl Manager is used in more than 7,000 installations across 50 countries, supporting over 13,000 active licences. It has become a trusted solution for banks and safe storage providers that need a reliable, compliant, and customer-focused approach to managing safe deposit systems.
